The publishing house and how it works.

Each book is developed through close editorial collaboration, guided by simplicity, internal coherence, and intellectual honesty. We work with authors to sharpen what the work is already trying to do.

Design is held to the same standard. Our visual language prioritizes readability, restraint, and durability. Typography, layout, and materials are chosen to support long, uninterrupted reading.

We publish nonfiction that clarifies how things actually work, whether the subject is a system, an idea, a practice, or a way of seeing. We are drawn to work that avoids performative cleverness, rewards rereading, and stays useful after the first reading. We publish fewer books and give each one the time it requires.

We do not simplify what should remain complex. Our books honor the depth of their subjects while staying accessible to curious readers without specialized backgrounds. The goal is to make hard ideas clear, without sanding off what makes them true.
